Else von Hollander

1885 – 1932
One of the founders of the Bruderhof Communities, a communal movement that seeks to replace violence, isolation, and greed with love and justice.

When things are difficult, you must hold on to faith. Always remember that God is the victor in the end. Life means struggle and fight. The fight becomes hardest in death. It is worst and hardest at the end. In ordinary times, people often don’t notice it. They don’t take up the struggle to really live with enough seriousness and vigor."

"To the same measure that we put ourselves at the disposal of God’s cause—to the same measure that we put God’s will into practice—so will we gain confidence in our personal life. For we are promised, 'Seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.' That is our faith, and it can answer every need of our time.
