There are names men receive that they do not desire. Sumiteru Taniguchi is one such man. He carries the name Hibakusha, a survivor of the atomic bomb. His body is a stark reminder of the pain and suffering people can inflict on one another, yet his spirit has risen above the anger and pain to make him a fighter for a peaceful world. Read more

"I want to believe the compassion in your eyes, which seems sincere. Nuclear power and human beings cannot coexist. I don't want you to experience the sufferings that we suffered through. I hope my fellow human beings from all over the world will now live a peaceful and rich life. To fulfill this purpose, I want you all to do your best toward living in a genuine peaceful and non-nuclear world. To live a happy life together as one humankind, we must strive to rid the world of all nuclear weapons."
